Latest news coming in from Times of India that Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority is going to seal 1009 flats of Supertech’s Czar Project due to violation of rules.
The action came after the residents of Czar complained to Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority for illegal expansion and violation in the project plan. Therefore, GNIDA went ahead to order the sealing of over 1000 flats of Supertech’s Czar in sector Omnicron-1, Greater Noida.
In the same project, about half of the all flat units already been sold. Supertech got approval of total 834 units for Czar Project but constructed 1853 flat units instead in 20 acres township. However, Supertech denies any foul play, and claimed that in 2014 Supertech purchased FAR from the authority.
This is the second time Supertech is soup again, in 2014, Supertech asked by Allahabad High Court to demolish two residential structures that were only allowed up to 24 storeys but without prior permission were raised to 40 storeys. Later, Supertech went to Supreme Court got stay order for the same.
In real estate industry of India, it has become commonplace for residents to face vagaries of developers such as unexpected delays, possession disputes, and change in construction plans. However, with rising consumer activism, today consumers are more aware about their rights, and taking to social media to expose developers.
Furthermore, RERA (real estate regulatory authority) from April onwards Government of India will start implementing it, as it may again increase difficulties for irregular and fraud real estate companies, builders and realtors.
MS Dhoni-Harbhajan-Amrapali controversy is a perfect example of consumer activism.
It is a big blow to Supertech, which again has further tarnished its market image. There is no confirmation over, which part of Czar Project will be sealed, and if customers may face delay in possession or it may further escalate.
